This work began with a mutual connection to a place (Lafayette, Indiana USA), providing a background for its development. In the foreground are gathered a set of signs, pointing in different directions, all enveloped by Pioulard’s musical score. 

The signs of our everyday environment follow us around town, whether driving or walking from place to place, or simply wandering around. When a place is new to us, these signs become indicators that allow us to find our way; once a place feels known, the signs sink into the background and become invisible. Still they remain (and often age) in place, continually following along with the cycles of our movement.
